DocSana Launches in Austin: Find the Right Therapist, Not Just Any Therapist

A new kind of finder for therapy and psychiatry: describe what you need in plain words, get matched by fit, and see every way to book the right provider — side by side, on one profile.

AUSTIN, Texas — October 23, 2026 — DocSana™, a therapy and psychiatry directory operated by FindBestDoc LLC, opened to the public on October 21 at docsana.ai. Launching Austin-first, the site carries more than 1.3 million mental health provider profiles across all 50 states, 48 specialties, and more than 800 Texas cities — built to answer a different question than most directories ask: not just who is listed, but who is right for you.

Finding a therapist is hardest for the people who need one most. A secret-shopper study published in JAMA in 2026 placed 5,822 calls through mental health directories. Only 12.4% of attempts ended in a booked appointment, and 55.6% ran into directory errors — wrong numbers, closed practices, and providers who were never available. These “ghost networks” fail patients quietly.

DocSana starts with the person looking. Patients search free by what they actually need — the concern they want help with, location and distance, provider type — psychiatry, therapy, or both — and session format, in person or online. Or they can skip the filters entirely: DocSanaAI, the site’s conversational assistant, lets them describe what they are going through in plain words and turns that into a match. Results are ordered by fit — relevance, distance, the substance of each profile, and verification status — and every profile shows each legitimate way to book that provider side by side, so finding the right person and actually reaching them happen in the same place. When a search has no strong match, the site says so instead of padding the results. Providers claim their profiles free and keep them current; those who complete identity and licensure checks are marked Verified and rank first.

Around the finder, the site adds tools for the rest of the journey. Through Ask Anonymously, patients can ask a mental health question with no name attached, ever, and verified local providers answer, forming a growing public library. When someone talking with DocSanaAI expresses a crisis, it surfaces the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The site also offers free self-check screeners, an openings board of current provider availability, and Top News, twice-weekly mental-health news for patients.

What patients get

What providers get

“Finding a therapist shouldn’t be harder than the problem that sent you looking. Most directories hand you a list and leave the hard part — figuring out who is actually right for you — to you. We built DocSana to do that part: tell us what you need in your own words, and we will match you by fit and put every way to book that provider in one place. And if we don’t have a good match for someone, we’d rather say so than pad the list.”
